David Le, Lab Coordinator

David is a recent graduate of UBC's Bachelors of Arts program with a concentration in Social Psychology.  Currently, he is studying children's and adult's social reasoning abilities in the lab.  He is planning to apply to UBC's graduate school program in the coming year.

 

 

 

Janiene Chand, Volunteer Research Assistant

Janiene is currently a third year psychology student, interested in obtaining hands on experience in the field of developmental psychology. She looks forward to being able to enhance her knowledge during her journey with us, as it allows her to combine both her love for working with children and passion for psychology.

 

 

Grace Qiao, Fourth-Year Honours Student

Grace is a 4th year Honours Student completing an undergraduate project on how children assess reliable knowledge sources. Outside of school, she teaches children to swim and volunteers at a Developmental Disabilities Association daycare. She's hoping to complete her undergraduate degree in 2012 and then pursue a career in public health. 

 

 

James Johann Tanliao, Volunteer Research Assistant

James obtained his Bachelor of Science degree (major in Psychology) from the Philippines.  Since moving to Vancouver several years ago, he has facilitated and taught several after-school programs and vocational classes for kids. Currently, he is completing his diploma in Infant Development while working with several research programs in the Lower Mainland. At the Centre, he is investigating which cue to (others’) knowledge children use when they are deciding whom they should learn from.

 

 Winnie Chung, Fourth-Year Student

Winnie is currently working on several projects in the lab. Her main research interests involve exploring the relationships between children's empathy and concurrent socio-emotional health, as well as investigating various social perspective taking abilities and limitations. Winnie is also assissting Dr. Birch and the lab coordinators with a variety of important  administrative tasks, and will be applying for graduate school in child development.
